Winners of The Nationals Represent New Marketing Trends

Exceptional new homes sales and marketing efforts were recognized at the Nationals award ceremonies during the International Builders’ Show in January.

Out of more than 1,200 entries in the 22-year-old competition, top winners included The Vine in Seattle; The Coconut Plantation at Ko Olina Resort and Marina in Kapolei, HI; Cottages at Cloverdale in Cloverdale, CA; Sentinels in San Diego; and The Pinehills in Plymouth, MA.

The judges said that the winners represented significant new trends in marketing:

  • Wider use of electronic media
  • The use of techniques from mainstream consumer marketing
  • Architectural respect for classic American housing

Honored as the 2003 Legends of Residential Marketing were home building veterans William Bone, founder and CEO of the Sunrise Colony Company, and Sanford “Sandy” Goodkin, an innovator in marketing who pioneered modern market research in home building.

A complete list of the winners of the Nationals competition can be found here.
