Government Procurement an Opportunity for Home Builders

Updated weekly, the agency’s procurement forecast lists opportunities in contracts related to real estate and mortgage insurance. Suppliers and support services are being sought for information technology and systems, financial management, property management and marketing and technical assistance, among others.
As part of the Bush Administration’s efforts to create a “citizen-centered, results-oriented and market-based government,” HUD’s policy is to award 50% of its direct contracts to small businesses and to have 40% of its prime contracts subcontracted to small businesses.
Also of possible interest, the General Service Administration conducts periodic workshops on how to become a certified government contractor, how to submit a good proposal and other topics. These workshops are conducted at the 11 regional GSA offices across the country.
